Special Feature on Senegal

The Irish Examiner published a special feature on Senegal in early January (2008). The two part series focused on the situation behind the illegal migration of thousands of young men from West Africa.

Journalist Caroline O'Doherty and photographer Dan Linehan travelled to Senegal to meet some of these young men but also to understand that poverty and climate change are key drivers behind the migration. During the visit Caroline and Dan met with young sponsored children and learn how sponsorship can help alleviate poverty in one of West African poorest countries.
