Emergencies

Plan is a child centred humanitarian organisation focusing on long term development. However, when a disaster happens, Plan will respond in the best possible way. This can take several forms:

Emergency assistance: Providing food, shelter, clean water, medical supplies etc.
Rehabilitation and Reconstruction: Supporting existing local partners provide the necessary rehabilitation projects. Developing new partners with suitable partners to provide the best assistance to children and their families in need.

More often than not, Plan will respond to assist children including: recontruction of schools/homes, providing text books, child protection services etc and in extreme disasters: Plan will focus on psycho-social and trauma counselling.

Plan helping families affected by flooding in Nepal
Plan Ireland has been granted €89,000 by Irish Aid to assist families affected by severe flooding in the Sunsari District of Nepal.
