August 15, 2008 - Plan Ireland is delighted to announce that it has been granted funding totalling €578,000 from Irish Aid to assist typhoon victims in The Philippines, malnourished children in Burkina Faso, meningitis sufferers in West Africa and also for disaster response training for staff in 12 West African countries.



€99,750 Irish Aid money to help Filipino Typhoon victims
The Irish Government's Overseas Aid and Development Department, Irish Aid, has awarded Plan almost €100K to respond to the needs of typhoon victims in The Philippines

Meningitis epidemic in West Africa
Funding of €200,000 from Irish Aid has been granted to Plan Ireland to respond to the meningitis epidemic that hits the West Africa and the Sahel region each year.

Burkina Faso nutrition programme
Irish Aid funding is helping Plan Ireland to help malnourished children in Burkina Faso
