Jane Clare, widow of the late Dr. Anthony Clare, admires a painting which was presented to her by Dr. Michael Del Monte, Principal Psychologist at St. Edmundsbury Hospital, Lucan on behalf of the hospital's staff.

On Tuesday March 11th  Dr. Maeve Daly, consultant at St. Edmundsbury Hospital, Lucan presented Plan Ireland CEO, David Dalton, with a donation on behalf of the hospital staff in memory of the popular and well known psychiatrist Dr. Anthony Clare.

Dr. Clare, who died last September, was consultant psychiatrist at St. Edmundsbury’s for almost 20 years and also a board member of Plan Ireland. The money received from staff at St. Edmunsbury’s, and from mourners at his funeral, will go towards the construction of two schools and community water projects in Guinea Bissau.

Anthony's widow Jane, who is Chairperson of Plan Ireland, was presented with a painting which had originally been bought by his colleagues in St. Edmundsbury's as a retirement present but unfortunately he did not live to see his retirement which was due to happen in December.
