Tanzania
Tanzania is located just south of the equator on the east coast of the African continent. Encompassing the islands of Zanzibar and Pemba, Tanzania also has the largest mountain on the African continent, Mount Kilimanjaro.
Agriculture dominates Tanzania's economy, employing more than 90% of the working population and accounting for 60% of the Gross Domestic Product. Important food crops include maize, wheat, cassava, rice, sorghum, bananas, fruits, and vegetables.
The Tanzanian household is likely to be composed of members of the extended family. The family has a patriarchal structure whereby the oldest male in the family is the leader.
